In the thick of it…

It has been really busy here. As we are working on our papers and presentations, outside research is off limits in order to get everyone to really do a deep reading. Today,

Morning in the yard at Spannocchia. I sat here for several hours after doing a days of research, writing and presentations. I meant to continue my readings and research but the view with the light was irresistable.

is my last presentation. The process involves me re-reading all of my notes and assigned essays because my perspective and depth of knowledge changes with each new lecture and presentation. By the time we review our thesis in order to connect all of our assigned essays, we have 24 hours or less to finish writing our paper, prepare our presentation and then present in the afternoon.

I was able to finish everything yesterday so this morning a bunch of us hiked for 2.5 hours to the “place that only god knows,” an old monastery.

There was also some deeply sad news from home, so it was hard to be away from my family during this time.

Since I have been so caught up in our schedule, any free time has been entirely devoted

to reading and writing papers, after my second presentation, I spent hours painting. That was very meditative and peaceful.

Wish me luck on my last presentation here today! 😀

Tonight is our last dinner here and tomorrow we are off to Sienna for a day trip.
