Exhibition: MADE opening this friday

Opening reception: 12/4 @ 5pm

MADE was conceived in response to planBTV South End, a year-long, arts-focused community engagement process. The resulting plan is both a repository of citizen’s ideas, aspirations and concerns about the future of Burlington’s South End, as well as a roadmap of how we might get there. A central tenet of PlanBTV South End is the community’s desire to protect and expand the unique blend of arts, industry and enterprise in this resilient economic hub as a foundation for moving forward.

MADE features the work of 21 South End-based artists and businesses that highlight the wide variety of arts and making that helps define what is created in the Enterprise Zone. More broadly, MADE attempts to capture the variety and scope of talent that is ever-present yet sometimes hidden from view in this vibrant creative community.

MADE is presented by Burlington City Arts in partnership with SEABA and curated by Wylie Garcia, Mark Waskow, and DJ Hellerman.

PlanBTV South End is funded in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts with additional support from the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission, AARP, the Environmental Protection Agency, the State of Vermont Department of Housing and Community Development, Dealer.com and Burton.
